Creating a new form

For creating a new form, Access provides several buttons on the Create tab in the Forms group:

  • An empty form is opened in the design view. By default, the grid lines are shown. In the ribbon, the Form Design Tools context tools are placed that include the Design, Arrange, and Format tabs:

Form sections

In the form, the so-called Detail section is shown.

Using the context menu, you can show additional sections: Right-click the Detail row and select

Form Header/Footer and Page Header/Footer.

Moreover, you can show or hide the following items in this context menu:

Grid and Ruler.

To move the section borders, right-hand and bottom margins of the form, hold the left-hand mouse button down and drag the borders cursor:
